Condor Ötzi mummy knife
Condor Ötzi mummy knife.
The glacier mummy found in South Tyrol in 1991 and affectionately known as “Ötzi” was a sensation and a treasure for archeology and early historical research. At the time of his death, the Neolithic hunter also had a knife consisting of a flint blade and a wooden handle in his equipment.
Based on this knife, designer Joe Fowlers designed the Condor Otzi Knife with a contoured and forged carbon steel blade made of 1095 and a wooden handle wrapped twice with brass wire. A knife like a hand ax - not big, but robust and reduced to the essentials, from a time when a knife was still an elementary everyday item and essential for survival. A handmade leather sheath forms the worthy framework for this archaic and unique cutting tool.
